And so we made it through our 3 hour layover and 2 hour flight from Amsterdam to Milan. Next time I would love to have at least a day to stay in Amsterdam which would have made all the traveling tolerable. Sadly, we hit the ground running and met our tour guide and other joining groups. Total we make up 48 students and faculty from Buffalo, Oklahoma, Indiana, and us from Houston. We checked into our hotel, the NH Hotel. It had an industrial look to it as it is a renovated Fiat factory.
The rooms were gorgeous and had a study entry room that opened up into the rest of the room. After settling in we walked a few blocks to dinner as we arrived later in the day. Eatalia was a higher scale grocery market with a restaurant inside that uses the locally grown products from the store. We had a delicious three course meal that was paired with a glass of prosecco.
The only unfortunate thing was that the pasta was very under cooked for my liking (pre al dente). Afterwards, he walked the store and stumbled upon a wine cellar. We grabbed a 6 euro 2 liter of wine and 6 other girls and myself sipped and talked the night away in the hotels garden area.
