Milan our end point of the trip was only a short 2.5hr drive from Bologna. We broke it up the drive and stopped at a parmesan factory. It smelt amazingly good in there as all whom love parmesan would expect.
It was nice to see the process and time that it takes to make one wheel of cheese. The salt bath room was nice and warm and fun to see the cheese floating and bobbing around.
Then the best part was aging room and seeing aisles of cheese.
This ended our trip so nicely to be able to see and eat authentic parmesan cheese. Also, to sample and buy a 12 month parmesan that you cannot buy here in the states was a highlight and one that my family will love me for.
After our stop we headed to Milan to tour for almost 2hours and by this time I'm exhausted from all the hustle and bustle that we just walked the city a little and then grabbed a beer and sat by a fountain and people watched.
I sat there happy but sad because I knew it was the end of the trip and I would be dreading the long travel back home to our humid flat lands. I will for ever cherish this trip, experience, and friendship's made.
Stay blessed!
