Day Six

FREE TIME... we finally got a day to roam around the city ourselves. I wanted to do a little shopping but not much since I didn't bring a large enough bag. A few girls got together and had a fabulous lunch where I got my first pizza fix. I am a pizzaholic so I was very anxious to get my first one in Italy and it did not disappoint.

As much as I enjoyed the cute view of eating lunch in a plaza I prefer having a meal further from the touristy sites because it was more authentic tasting and welcoming. I left the group with one of the girls and we found a cute little bar and had a glass of prosecco while watching the city go by and enjoying the view.

In Italy a bar is more of a cafe where you can get food and drinks. Verses an American bar where you mainly get alcohol and maybe some popcorn or peanuts. After a drink and some people watching we left and started heading back to the hotel to find food near by. Everything in Italy is literally a 20min walk away. I felt like everything I would look up on the map was anywhere from a 10-20 minute walk. We found this super cute and small restaurant two blocks from the hotel and split an amazing pizza. The crust was thick and soft and perfect for soaking up the homemade sauce. We met the owners son whom had been in the industry since he was a child because of the family business. He recommend a fried eggplant pizza that was delicious. It was more of a pan fried verses deep fried that I was expecting and I was totally okay with that.

Best pizza so far and a great atmosphere to try it.

Stay blessed!!!

Horrible... I couldn't sleep or get comfortable BUT it went by a lot quicker than the flight there. Thank goodness for in flight...
